Who we are

GroceryChef is a meal-planning app and website operated by Mi Assist Studio ("GroceryChef," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect on this website and in the GroceryChef app, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect on this website

• Waitlist email. If you join the early access list, we store the email address you give us and which part of the page you joined from.
• Usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed and buttons clicked. This may include your IP address, browser type, and device information.

Information in the GroceryChef app

GroceryChef is built to run on your device. You do not create an account, and your meal planning happens on your phone rather than on our servers.

• Your plans and preferences. The store, budget, diet, allergies, any health condition you choose to cook around, your weekly plan, and your shopping list are stored on your device, not on our servers.
• No account needed. Because there is no sign-up, we do not hold a profile of you tied to your cooking.
• Subscription status. If you subscribe, your subscription is handled by the Apple App Store. Payment is processed by Apple, and we never see your card number.
• Optional analytics. If in-app analytics are enabled in a future release, they measure how features are used and never include your grocery list contents.

How we use information

• To email you about your early access spot and the launch, if you joined the list.
• To understand how the website is used so we can make it better.
• To provide support when you contact us.

What we never do

• We never sell your personal information.
• We never store your meal plans, budget, or shopping lists on our servers.
• We never send you marketing texts. The waitlist is email only.

Sharing

For the website, we share information only with the service providers that run it: Supabase (which stores waitlist emails) and PostHog (analytics). Each processes data on our behalf under their own security commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your waitlist email while you are on the list. You can leave the waitlist at any time by replying to any email we send, and we will remove your address. Because your app data lives on your device, deleting the app removes it.

Children

GroceryChef is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
